Mostly decent app with one infuriating deal breaker of a UI flaw

Selecting any text while writing a journal entry triggers a (completely unnecessary) floating UI popup allowing you to italicise, boldface, or change the font size of the selected text. The popup conveniently blocks any keyboard entry while it’s active. So any time you go to delete or edit a word, you’re stuck waiting until the useless little popup finishes grinding through its exit animation and finally lets you start typing again.

There are a couple of other minor annoyances — I don’t love that the first line of every entry gets displayed as its “title” for example — but the thing where you’re constantly losing the keyboard focus really interferes with the usefulness of the app.
